    In the Canadian Armed Forces, the role of women has evolved since 1971; at that time, the Royal Commission on the Statute of Women in Canada provided recommendations on the rights of women. Our panelists reviewed this evolution topic from three different perspectives: as a service member, as an academic and as a spouse.

    Food, Guns and Clan Politics: UNOSOM and UNITAF in Somalia (1992-1995)
    In the early 1990s, Somalia was the theatre of violent clashes between various factions, wide spread starvation, and a refugee crisis. Under UN mandate, an international force was deployed to ensure delivery of humanitarian aid and restore order. Two of the participants, in leadership positions, former members of The Royal Canadian Regiment, were there and agreed to share their experience.

    Exercise Northern Quest: 1RCR and the Franklin Expedition

    Season 3, Episode 1

    In July 1973, the 1st Battalion of The RCR set off to the Arctic for an exercise in leadership while searching for artefacts from the ill-fated Franklin Expedition. Participants in this exercise and an expert in the investigation of archaeological record of the 1845 expedition are invited to discuss their experiences and... findings.
